ECSD Trustees
Trustees play an important role in setting the direction of the Edmonton Catholic School Division. As elected officials, Trustees are accountable to the communities they represent and exercise their leadership through governance.
The Trustees form a corporate board, which establishes a vision for the Division. Through the Education Act, the Government of Alberta delegates much of its authority for the governance of education to school boards.
The Board provides direction and leadership in the following key areas: establishing mission and goals; supporting student achievement, strategic planning, developing policies to ensure efficient operation of the board, approving curriculum, approving the budget, and hiring the chief superintendent.
